I developed a passion for fitness at an early age. I grew up playing competitive soccer in Seattle and went on to play at Eastern Oregon University. Movement and activity have been such an important part of my life. I want to inspire others to realize the positive impact that movement can have on their lives too. I hope to help others create healthy habits so they can build confidence in their daily lives.

In the summer, I like to spend my free time hiking, paddle boarding, and playing soccer. In winter, I love to ski and snowshoe. I also love exploring new coffee shops and restaurants in the city!

Born and raised in Washington, I have been interested in health and fitness for as long as I can remember. In my 24-year career, I have developed a breadth of knowledge around many aspects of health and fitness. I have found that applying this knowledge by working with a diverse set of people is one of my biggest passions.

I love teaching others how to properly exercise. I have taught weight-training and other classes at North Seattle College for 14 years. I love helping students, clients, and friends transform their health, create new lifestyles, and learn new ways to stay fit. No matter your experience or goals, I am confident I can help you.

I take my personal fitness journey very seriously and have competed in 13 natural bodybuilding contests. When I’m not teaching or spending time in the gym, I enjoy church, watching movies, reading books, traveling, playing chess, taking long walks, anything related to Star Wars, and quiet times at home with my family.

I’ve always been active, growing up playing several sports, but I really started getting into working out around the age of 12. I wasn’t happy with how I looked and wanted to take control—building confidence through weight training.

After high school, I began taking my training more seriously and developed a strong passion for learning about human anatomy and fitness. That passion quickly evolved into a genuine interest in helping others in the gym.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Washington University and moved to Vancouver after graduation, where I began training at a large gym there. Working with a wide range of clients—each with unique goals and physical limitations—taught me that training isn’t just about lifting weights; it’s about making movement and fitness accessible and impactful for everyday life.

In my free time, I stay active with weightlifting, golfing, running, and the occasional race. I also enjoy playing video games and watching anything Star Wars.

Growing up, I was one of seven kids so, to keep their sanity, my parents kept us busy and active. In addition to all the pick-up games in the neighborhood (like kick-the-can and tag), I participated in soccer, tennis, and swim team. In college, I was a Division One swimmer, which I attribute to good coaching and consistent training.

Shortly after graduating with a business degree, I went back and got my master’s degree in physical education so I could spend my life doing something I really enjoyed. That was 32 years ago, and I’ve never spent one day regretting my decision. Over the years, I’ve coached many sports and helped many people reach their goals. As a personal trainer and business owner, it’s rewarding to help so many people on so many different levels.

In my free time I like to explore the Pacific Northwest on bike or foot, referee or attend soccer games, and hang out with my kids and dogs, Daisy and Charlie.

I have a passion for helping people feel strong, confident, and empowered in their bodies. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey, coming back from injury, or looking to take your training to the next level, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.

I’ve always been a gym person and during covid I developed a passion for long walks. When the gyms were closed I had to come up with my own plan to stay healthy and active.

I believe in creating personalized programs that are safe, effective, and aligned with your unique goals and lifestyle. My approach focuses on building a strong foundation through mobility, functional movement, and progressive strength training—all while keeping things fun and motivating.

I love going to the movies, being close to the water, going for trips, long walks and cooking while enjoying my nice music, connecting with my friends, trying out new spots.

My philosophy as a trainer is to inspire and build strength through consistency, fun, and structured fitness programs. My education in health and wellness took a holistic approach and I have carried that forward to my career as a trainer. My experience in working with different age ranges and fitness backgrounds has enabled me to approach training sessions with 100% focus on client needs.

In my free time, I enjoy dog walking, cooking, outdoor activities, dancing, and enjoying a relaxing spa day.

I have been in the health and fitness industry for more than a decade, but my journey started back in college. I played football at the University of Wyoming and was honored to be Team Captain. During that time, I realized that my passion for sports extended to health and fitness, and I wanted to turn it into a career. I earned my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health promotion. I joined the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Wyoming before moving to Seattle to join the 1 on 1 Fitness team.

I believe that no results can be achieved without hard work, but I also think that exercise should be rewarding and fun. I like to adjust my daily routines based not just on my clients’ physical goals, but also on what makes them feel motivated and comfortable. For this reason, I can train people of all ages, abilities, and lifestyles.

In my free time, I am the Director of Strength & Conditioning and Defensive Back Coach for the football team at Bothell High School. I’m also a full-time Dad to three girls and one boy, so I’m always running around to their events and activities.

My passion for fitness and body mechanics started at the age of ten, when surgery forced me to re-learn how to walk. The lasting impacts of altered body mechanics became apparent in my twenties when I discovered a love for combat sports, including Muay Thai and Filipino Martial Arts. Learning the correct movement patterns for these arts improved my movement in everyday life and kicked off a career shift into personal training and corrective exercise.

My experience has given me deep insight into client needs, ranging from the athlete to someone who just wants to be able to walk up the stairs more easily. I have experienced the inability to walk and the ability to walk into a cage to fight. I want to help others push their boundaries for a better quality of life.

In my free time I like to stay active outside of the gym. I continue to practice Muay Thai and Filipino Martial Arts. I also enjoy connecting with nature, hiking, and camping in the Pacific Northwest. (I haven’t had to kickbox any bears yet, and let’s hope it stays that way!) If I do stay home, I let my inner nerd out to play Dungeons & Dragons where I can still adventure and fight, even if it is imaginary.

Growing up, I was never interested in sports or working out in general. It wasn’t until I tried high school football that I felt a growing passion for fitness and pushing myself in general. However, even after four years of football and trying out other sports, being a trainer never came to mind. It took a change of majors in college and about three-and-a-half years of being burnt out from exercising for me to realize that helping people reach their fitness goals was something I wanted to do.

I used to believe that exercise was all about pushing oneself past exhaustion as many times as possible in a week, and that there was no point in doing otherwise. Reflecting on my time with athletics and working out in general helped me understand that hard work and discipline needs to be balanced with rest and fun. These experiences help me to not only better understand a client’s needs and goals, but feel prepared to help them reach whatever goal they have set for themselves.

In my free time, I like to take care of my dogs, hang out with my mom, play video games, read or watch any media related to Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and learn about older and or more obscure athletes in combat sports.

I have been in the fitness industry for more than two decades, but my love for strength training and exercise goes back to high school when I learned that hard work in the weight room would bring positive changes to the body. Although I primarily worked out to have an advantage on the football field and reduce the risk of injuries, I quickly learned it was beneficial in preventing a myriad of diseases. When I got to university, I developed a passion for biology, physiology, and chemistry, especially as it relates to how the body responds to weight training.

My choice to pursue a career in the exercise science field has allowed me to share my knowledge and help my clients attain their health and wellness goals. One of the reasons I love working for 1 on 1 Fitness is the deep relationships you build with your clients. The sessions are tailored specifically to individuals. We take care to work around any injuries or pain. I always make sure my clients leave the studio feeling better than when they walked in.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, road biking, mountain biking, Seahawks, UW Husky, and OSU Beaver football, books (mostly non-fiction), movies, dogs, and I can’t help myself…weight training.

I developed an interest in fitness during high school when I was a sprinter on the track team. In college, I continued to run, but changed from being a sprinter to a long-distance runner because of chronic sports-related injuries. This change allowed me to have three successful years on my college track and cross-country teams. It also taught me that it’s important to remain flexible and pivot when circumstances call for a change.

At Northwest University, I turned my passion into a career by earning my bachelor’s degree in exercise science. I joined the 1 on 1 Fitness team as a paid intern and personal trainer, where I applied my book knowledge to real-life scenarios. I found it so rewarding to work with clients and develop training programs that took their unique situations into account.

After graduation, I joined 1 on 1 Fitness full-time because they encourage genuine relationships with clients, and they give us the creative freedom to develop programs that address specific needs. I especially enjoy researching injuries and diseases and using this information to best help my clients.

In my free time, I like to knit, cook, walk, and go for runs. I’m currently training for my first half marathon. From there, who knows? I see a future continuing to enjoy my passions and crushing my personal goals.

I am excited to fulfill my long-time goal to become a personal trainer. I grew up in Puerto Rico and after college pursued a career in consulting, human resources, and executive recruiting in Chicago and Arizona. In 2004, my husband and I moved to Washington, and I started managing his dental specialty practice in Bellevue. I retired from dental management in 2024 and decided it was time to pursue my passion for fitness and wellness by becoming a personal trainer.

In early 2004, I started doing triathlons with my friends, something that I had long admired but never thought I could do myself. I completed over 15 sprint, super sprint and Olympic-distance triathlons and participated in long-distance open-water swimming events. Looking back, I am amazed that I was able to do what I thought I wouldn’t have the courage and skill to accomplish.
These experiences have shaped my personal training philosophy, not to mention my outlook on life in general. I learned to pace myself and be disciplined in my training, but also be humble, give myself a break and just keep taking one step at a time when things didn’t go the way I had hoped they would. I learned that running my own race or swimming my own swim was much more important than how I placed in a particular event. The fact that I trained, showed up and finished was a huge accomplishment and source of personal pride that kept me coming back for more.

In this new chapter of my life, I want to help my clients realize that they can do anything they set their mind to, one step at a time, and be amazed and proud of themselves for doing so, and that a life of wellness and health is a worthy and achievable goal.

In my free time, I like watching movies, cooking, reading, listening to music (Latin music and 80’s music are my favorite!), crafting, and taking long walks. Most of all, I love spending time with my husband, Angel, our grown kids, our two dogs, and our grand-puppy.
